“The Man at the Mouth” to be Inducted into Salmon Hall of Fame

The Atlantic Salmon Museum, Doaktown, NB, will host its 2005 Hall of Fame Dinner on Friday, September 30th, at 6:30 p.m., in the River Room of the Museum.

The 2005 Inductees will be:

Oran & Esther Clowater (deceased) originally of Doaktown, NB, Caretaker & Cook – Oran & Esther acted as Caretaker and Cook at the Miramichi Anglers Association in Doaktown from 1972 – 1991.

George Roland Routledge of Renous, NB, Fly Tier – George’s Fly Shop is a real meeting place for many people who visit regularly, and who share his feeling “that fishing is more than catching a fish – its just being on the River with friends”. George’s generosity, his comfortable way of treating his customers, and his outstanding success in the profession he loves has earned him the title he is often know by, “THE MAN AT THE MOUTH”.

Clayton Arthur Stewart of Doaktown, NB, Guide – Clayton started his guiding career with Campbell’s Fishing Camps in Blackville in 1949. He worked for Campbell for several years, guiding at outfits on the main stem Miramichi and the Cains. From here, Clayton went to guide for the Old River Lodge for over thirty years.

Guest speaker will be Stephen Wood, B.Sc., and President of Wood River Enhancement Ltd. an Environmental Consulting Firm. For over twenty years Stephen has been involved in river and stream assessment, protection and restoration. He has been involved in numerous public education programs regarding fish and the environment around the province. Stephen is presently on the Board of the Atlantic Salmon Museum and is Chairman of the Museum’s “Come Play In Our River” Youth Education Program.
