Baseball Canada 2011 Senior Men Championships

Ironmen Fan watching the game

The Senior Ironmen have nothing to be ashamed of, being the runner up in the bronze medal game of the Senior Men Championships.

It was anyone;s series. The Ironmen coming close in the opener by 1 run and 4 inches from over the wall, and coming short by 1 run in the placement game for the medals to place for gold or bronze is worthy of mention. A fantastic showing by the Senior Ironmen, and proof the Miramichi competitive spirit is alive and well.

All teams played exceptional and the fan support was as usual, over the top for this event.   It’s a time when we come together,  showing our pride as a sports city, with a great time had by all.

Congrats to the Chatham O’Donaghues Ironmen for delivering  a Class A Seniors tournament and the Chatham Head ball organization for the Waldo Henderson Field.

Congrats to Gold Champions Ontario, and British Columbia for winning the Silver.

More sunshine is ahead as GM Daryl Mathews of the Chatham O’Donaghues Ironmen  made their intentions known to Baseball Canada to host the tourney back on the river for the 2013, 2014 and 2015 years.   Look out Miramichi, we may be in store for more of the best Canadian baseball has to offer.
