Poem: “October to December” By: L. Joseph

autumn-leaves-mapleOctober to December

The trees are quickly getting bare as its orange and yellow leaves fall to the ground
A ground that’s ridden of its warmth, replaced by a touch of Jack’s frost; what was once green is now brown
Suntan oils and sunblock lotions all stored away until next year; they’re out of sight
Along with our beach towels, picnic baskets, and flip flops all packed away tight
Mother Nature cannot be bargained with – to her seasons she stays true
Spring and summer are long gone. Here to stay is autumn whose wind is chill and cool
We find more happiness in Thanksgiving; we’ll honour those we’ve lost and we will always remember
The love and warmth from our hearts carries us through from October to December
