Rotary Club of Newcastle Donates to the Miramichi Minor Football Association

The Rotary Club of Newcastle is proud to announce that our committee has provided the Miramichi Minor Football Association with a donation of $1000 that went towards the purchase of 4 new helmets. The helmets on display in the picture have the new logo which is the head of a MINOTAUR. A minotaur is a beast from Greek mythology that is half human and half beast. The beast portion resembles the head of a bull. Each helmet shown in the picture represents the portion of funds donated by Rotary and now have a Rotary logo attached to the back of each helmet.

Hill Memorial High School) Alumni is hosting “A Night of Laughs” at the Riverside Entertainment Center Inc., located at 2546 King George Highway, Miramichi, (Douglastown) on Saturday, February 9th, 2019, from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The host is Paddy Quinn, and Local Comedian Jimmy MacKinley will have you laughing all night long! Again this year with a few tweaks will be The Dating Game and The Not So Newlywed Game. There will be a Martini Bar, Chinese Auction and a 50 / 50 also available. All proceeds will go back to James M. Hill Memorial High School.

City of Miramichi Annual New Year Levee

The City of Miramichi Annual New Year Levee that was scheduled for New Year’s Day, Tuesday, January 1st, 2019, was rescheduled for Saturday, January 5th, 2019, due to a pending storm. Mayor Adam Lordon and City Council invite all Miramichers to join them at the City of Miramichi Annual New Year Levee to be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Seaman’s Hospital, located at 12 Vye Street, across the street from the Saint Samuel’s Roman Catholic Church, in the former Village of Douglastown. Finger foods and beverages will be served.
