The Burnt Church Midsummer Festival for the 2019 Year is back again on the long New Brunswick Day weekend, Saturday, August 3rd, 2019, from 11 am to 4 pm at the Burnt Church WI (Women’s Institute) Community Hall, located at 326 Church River Road in Burnt Church, New Brunswick. Events include a Barbecue, sale of crafts, handmade preserves and food items, and much more! Everyone is welcome!

The 22nd Annual Natoaganeg – Eel Ground 1st Nation Annual Pow Wow is going to be held from July 18th to 21st, 2019. It is located at the Pow Wow grounds on Riverview Road East on the Natoaganeg – Eel Ground 1st Nation, overlooking the Miramichi River. It is their community’s cultural, spiritual and social event of the year and time to showcase the drumming, dancing and regalia of the First Nation people. It is a perfect opportunity to experience First Nation Culture at it’s very best.

The Second Annual Community Vigil Service will be held at the Blackville Municipal Park, 158 Main Street on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 7:00pm. This interfaith event allows our communities to gather and reminisce.

Please bring your own candle. Feel free to bring pictures, etc., to honour your loved ones. There will be words of encouragement and prayers offered. The Blackville Fire Department is providing a BBQ – free of charge.Due to the expected large crowd, please bring your own lawn chair if possible.

This year marks the 350th anniversary of the establishment of Fortress Ste-Croix on the Northwest branch of the Miramichi, in 1669 by administrator, fur trader, and fisherman, Richard Denys. Le centre scolaire/communautaire Carrefour Beausoleil, in partnership with Mi’gmawe’l Tplu’taqnn Incorporated and the Friends of Beaubears Island, plan to commemorate this event.

On Tuesday, June 25th, 2019, from 7 pm to 9 pm, come out to the Carrefour Communautaire Beausoleil for their Annual General Meeting. It will be held in the Gilles Laplante Theatre.
This is an invitation to the entire Francophone community of the Miramichi and surrounding areas.
There will be reported discussions on the various things involved throughout the past year at the Carrefour Communautaire Beausoleil. A lunch will be served as well.

The Fishermen’s PowWow on the Miramichi is back for the 2019 year! It will be held from Sunday, June 30th, 2019 to Monday, July 1st, 2019, in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Festival Tent Area next to the Ritchie Wharf in Newcastle.

The Ni’gweg Collective will be having a Launch Party at the Vogue Theatre June 28th, 2019 to celebrate the release of 4 new animated shorts to be released to the Game App Nitap: Legends of the First Nations. The Evening will have animation screenings, food, Lakalet (Fry Bread), music, drumming, prizes, art and a chance to meet the storytellers and creators. We welcome all ages to celebrate with us.

The 5th Annual River Run 4 Vets in Doaktown. Starts with a sail (canoe) down the beautiful Miramichi at 11 am from the McNamee Footbridge to Doaktown on Saturday, June 29,2019. (July long weekend). It ends with entertainment and a BBQ steak or chicken dinner at Branch #23 Doaktown Legion. Full package for the event is $30 which includes a River Run t-shirt, dinner plus many other goodies. Or you can just attend the dinner for $15.
