                                                   The Rural Community of Upper Miramichi spans the world-famous
                                                Miramichi River, its streams and tributaries.  Historic communities such
                                              as Boiestown, Astle, New Bandon, Ludlow, Taxis River, Bloomfield, and
        Holtville are scattered along this majestic river.  These small communities allow you to experience the lives of
        our ancestors, all the while exploring our forests and magical shores — A world-famous Atlantic salmon fishing

             Upper Miramichi, in partnership with the Woodmen’s Museum and
        many other community organizations, assists with festivals and community events, community suppers, Canada
        Day Celebrations, an amazing Forest Festival, and Winter Fun Days. Experience our local way of life by attending
        events and celebrations,  logging & fishing competitions, craft displays and church suppers. When we meet you
        in the community you’ll always find a friendly smile and a, “How’s she goin’?”

                        August 17  Exciting competition and family fun beginning at 12 noon at the museum. Axe
                        Throw, Jack & Jill Sawing, Vertical Chop, Kettle Boil and more!

                        Aug. 18: Be a Lumberjack Day.  Learn lumberjack skills! 12 noon at the museum.
