Downtown Music Festival is an eclectic mix of original music artists, performing live at Miramichi’s Queen Elizabeth Park, Apéro Lounge, Dooryard co. Cafe and Mill Cove Coffee House.
There’s a little Country, a bit of Pop, a lot of Rock, Jazz and Blues and everything in between!
Please support this great event so that we can make it an annual party and aim to bring even more musical talent to our beautiful Downtown in the future!
This great musical event will springboard off of ‘Night Market on the Square’ on Friday, September 27th, 2019.

Gig & Groove followers have been hearing subtle whispers about a new and unique music festival, for Miramichi for quite some time.
In all actuality, those plans have been happening with a small group of like-minded friends for well over three years. little festival idea will get to test its waters on the evening of Friday, September 27th, 2019.
This extraordinary event will take place in Miramichi’s historic Downtown Newcastle, with Queen Elizabeth Park serving as the hub of the festival. The festival’s hope is that it will be an annual showcasing event for original artists, much like other cities have been supporting for years.
Of course, this goes for artists of all genres. And, it’s goal is to be a true platform for the Arts and Culture community around our wonderful city and the rest of the region.” We’re sure that you’re familiar with the new bi-weekly “Night Market on the Square” events which began earlier this Summer.
This past summer, the Queen Elizabeth Park every second Friday evening, from 6 PM to 9 PM. Gig & Groove has been working closely with the Newcastle Business District (the organizers of ‘Night Market’) to book in our young talents, so that they get a chance to busk at each event.
Future plans for ‘Downtown Music Festival’ include additional all-ages events. So, in time, there’ll be something for everyone!
When the last Friday of September rolls around, ‘Downtown Music Festival’ will kick off during that particular market.
Of course, local buskers will be on hand but as an added feature, a soon-to-be-announced original live band will showcase at the town square at 8 PM on that same day.
So, bring your lawn chairs, and from there, Apéro Lounge and Mill Cove Coffee House will join the party, hosting their own original musical acts.
And our awesome Downtown Fest will dive into full swing until you hear the shouts of “Last Call”.
