Quasquicentennial 125th Anniversary Celebration of Saint Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church
RESCHEDULED! MARK YOUR CALENDAR! On Friday, November 15th, 2019, come out to Saint Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 12 Saint Patrick’s Drive in Miramichi (Nelson) for their Quasquicentennial – 125th Anniversary Celebration!
The event starts off with a mass at 6:30 pm, followed by an evening social with light refreshments in the parish center, where Shawn McCarthy will also give a brief talk/walk through the history of our church! Shawn has authored a book entitled “Build Me A Sanctuary” which tells the story of our faith community during the 11 years between the tragic fire which destroyed our original church in 1883 and the rebuilding and reopening of Saint Patrick’s in 1894.
This book will be on display and available by order at the evening social with the proceeds going towards the Saint Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church Steeple Fund.
Saint Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church was consecrated and opened by the Most Reverend Bishop James Rogers, Bishop of the Diocese of Chatham on November 8th, 1894 and they would like for you to come and join us to help commemorate this milestone!!
This celebratory occasion will also be an opportunity for us to welcome their new pastor, Father Anthony Dass Papu, H.G.N.!!
Hope to see you there and everyone is welcome!!
