What is Family Day?
The basic purpose of Family Day is to provide a special occasion on which Canadians can celebrate family and community life and to provide a holiday in the otherwise holiday-vacant, three-month span between New Year’s Day and Good Friday.
This day for this event was strategically chosen to have a gathering, to break bread, to enjoy the company of family and community, and to support our Community / Local Food Bank.
The Miramichi Community Food Bank provides for 435 families or 800 people on a regular basis.
They have over 1700 names on their list of people who either regularly or periodically utilize their services.
The Miramichi Community Food Bank needs regular support from the Community.
Giv’er Miramichi is about “What’s up, what’s new, what’s happening”. We are focused on building people up, supporting one another and celebrating our successes.
