Salmon Sale!

The Miramichi Salmon Conservation will be selling surplus male adult salmon to the general public starting on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 for food.

As we don’t have a fish processing license, the salmon will only be sold in the round (not-cleaned), but bled. The price is $3.00/lb., paid only in cash, and calling in advance to place your order and selecting a pick-up time would be appreciated.

The fish will be individually placed in bags, but you will be required to bring your own cooler and ice, or whatever type of container you plan to put the fish in, to take home. We will provide you with a legal receipt to transport the salmon and the salmon range from 8 to 14lbs each.

This is a one-time event as these salmon were raised from wild smolts to adults to be stocked in the river, but DFO has refused to issue a permit. We are offering them as food so they won’t have to go to the landfill. We are committed to this concept of restocking the river while the broader issues are being worked on, but it will not happen this year.

The number to call is 506 622 8739 or 506 622 6445 and we are open for sales from 08:30 am until 4:00 pm, including this Saturday only Oct. 10.

There is a limited amount of salmon available for sale so call early to get your winter supply of salmon or to put in your smoker.
