SITE COORDINATOR

Working in consultation with the General Manager
and with representatives of the Provincial Department of Tourism,
Heritage and Culture, to plan and organize exhibits, programs and activities designed to highlight the historical significance of the Doak Provincial
Heritage Site. This will include but not be limited to supervising a
minimum of two staff members, promoting the Site using social and printed media; stocking and operating the Site’s gift shop, using staff and
fiscal resources effectively and, above all, ensuring that visitors have an informative and enjoyable experience.

Qualifications: We are looking for someone with sound leadership skills and solid ties to the local community who is willing to work with a team to ensure that the Doak Site continues as an important tourist destination.

Candidates should be outgoing, personable and have strong communication and administrative skills. Fresh ideas and a background in crafts would be a definite asset.

A complete description of the responsibilities of this position are available by contacting Karen Swim, General Manager, at 506-365-7787 or by emailing museum@nbnet.nb.ca.

Time Frame: The Doak Site typically opens in early June and remains in operation until late September. However, some volunteer time is required during the winter months – especially for new employees – to work with the management team to develop budgets and potential programs, and to review the history of the Site. During the summer season, the Site normally operates from Tuesday – Sunday so weekend work on a rotational basis will be a necessity.

Wages: To be negotiated.

As the Assistant to the Site Coordinator, you will be expected to help with the planning of the season’s events and to be knowledgeable about the Site’s operation and history.

A complete description of the responsibilities of this position are available by contacting Karen Swim, General Manager, at 506-365-7787 or by emailing museum@nbnet.nb.ca.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will be someone with an outgoing personality – an individual who can make our visitors feel welcome and who can take charge whenever the Site Coordinator must be temporarily absent. A background in crafts of all sorts and an interest in Village
history would be considered strong assets. Open to individuals of all ages.

Time Frame: The Doak Site normally opens in early June and remains in operation until late September. Weekend work on a rotational basis will be a necessity.
