On Thursday, February 11th, the Blackville Women’s Institute will be hosting their annual Heritage Week celebrations. This event is open to the public and is free of charge. Come Celebrate Heritage Week!

Saint Andrews United Church will have their Christmas Eve Service on Thursday, December 24 at 5:30 pm and it will be the last service for present minister, Rev. Paul McGrattan. The Anglican Parish of Derby and Blackville service will be held at Holy Trinity in Blackville at 6:00 pm.

The Annual Christmas Candle Light Parade in Blackville will be held on Thursday, December 17th at 6:30 pm. Line up begins at the old village office parking lot at the corner of Main Street and Schaffer Lane. The parade will proceed up Main Street with the singing of Christmas carols to Saint Raphael’s Church where the blessing of the Creche will take place.

A community presentation of the Safer Communities and Neighbourhood (SCaN) program offered by the Department of Public Safety will be held at the Blackville Community Center on Wednesday, December 16 at 6:30pm. The meeting is co-sponsored by the RCMP and is open to all residents of the Blackville area.

Blackville Home and School will host their 13th annual Christmas Home Tours, Homes for the Holidays on Saturday, November 28th from 6 pm to 8 pm. Refreshments to follow at the school cafeteria.

St. Raphael’s Parish in Blackville is hosting a church fundraiser in the form of a Memory Tree. A Christmas tree has been placed on the altar in memory of loved ones. Christmas bulbs to light the tree are available for purchase for $5 before and after Saturday evening and Sunday morning Masses, at the entrance of the church.

New Brunswick singer/songwriter Ed Sealy will be performing at the Upper Blackville United Baptist Church as part of his Winter Coat Tour this weekend November 6-8. Mr. Sealy will perform this Friday and Saturday nights at 7:00 pm, Sunday morning at 11:00 am and Sunday night at 7:00 pm at the church, 301 Howard Road. Everyone welcome.

Holy Trinity will be hosting a Country Style Ham Supper from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Saturday, November 7 at Trinity (Anglican) Hall, 295 Main Street in Blackville. On the Menu: Ham, potato scallop, baked beans, macaroni casserole, desserts, rolls, and coffee/tea.

The Blackville Women’s Institute will host their annual Christmas Craft and Bake Sale on Saturday, November 14 from 10 am to 1 pm at the Blackville Community Centre, located at 12 South Bartholomew Road. As in previous years, hot-dogs, pop, tea, coffee and doughnuts will be available for purchase in their “lunch room”.
