Sometimes I see a beautiful ocean view
                                                                                  with  a  dramatic  sky  and  deep  blue
                                                                                  water, and I sketch it quickly and then
                                                                                  paint  it.  Other  times,  I  take  a  more
                                                                                  academic approach and the work may
                                                                                  take a long time. I leave it, sometimes
                                                                                  for  years,  and  then  come  back  to  it.
                                                                                  There is no rule that I can see. I take it

                                                                                     Gerard has exhibited his work at
                                                                                  many galleries and shows in Toronto,
                                                                                  such  as  the  Sculptors  Society  of
                                                                                  Canada.  He  also  created  all  the
                                                                                  sculptures for Metropia, the 90-episode
                                                                                  TV soap opera in 2004-06. He is excited
                                                                                  to now be part of the arts community in
                                                                                  Miramichi. Last year he participated in

                                                                                  and  in  March  of  this  year  he  had  an
