Nestled in the valley of the Upper Southwest
Miramichi River, Doaktown is a village known for its The McNamee/ Priceville Footbridge
quiet friendliness and easy going lifestyle. Off the
beaten tourist track, come to Doaktown to slow down
your pace and experience our way of life. Stay awhile
and mingle with the locals at our many church suppers,
craft sales, dances, fishing retreats, parades, fairs,
exhibits, fiddling jamborees, community fundraisers,
karaoke, and numerous other events and celebrations.
We invite you to come sit by our campfires, learn
our songs and listen to our stories. Who knows, you
may end up at a genuine kitchen party, learning how
to step dance.
Outfitters offer day-trips or overnight packages for
fishing, canoeing, tubing, kayaking and touring
around the river. Bring the whole family and enrol the kids in a Doaktown Salmon & Fiddlehead Festival
day camp to learn water safety or how to tie flies for fishing. July 29 to August 1
Our river and forest provide many opportunities for adventure July 30: Family Day at The Doak House
and sightseeing. A popular attraction is the longest suspension 7pm-Concert at the Park
footbridge in New Brunswick. The McNamee/ Priceville July 31: 8pm-Night Light Parade
footbridge spans 200 metres across the Miramichi River offering 10pm-Fireworks
