Several notable figures,
including the Prince of
Wales, Marilyn Monroe, and
baseball legend Ted
Williams, have spent
fishing trips in Blackville.
There are plenty of
excellent fishing pools and
numerous salmon flies are
credited as being invented in
the area, including the
Blackville Special, Reliable
and Oriole.
A giant salmon fly, the
"Veterans Special", sits near
the entrance of the village.
The Blackville Community Park has scenic walking trails, snowshoeing in the winter,
a splashpad and playground for the kids, picnic area, and boat launch. The observation deck
offers beautiful views of the Miramichi River.
The Amy Jardine Memorial Pavillion (pictured above right) is host to musical and
