Doaktown

Nestled in the valley of the Upper Southwest Miramichi River, Doaktown is a village known for its quiet friendliness
and easy going lifestyle. Off the beaten tourist track, come to Doaktown to slow down your pace and experience our way
of life. Stay awhile and mingle with the locals at our many church suppers, craft sales, dances, fishing retreats, parades,
fairs, exhibits, fiddling jamborees, community fundraisers, karaoke, and numerous other events and celebrations.
We invite you to come sit by our campfires, learn our songs and listen to our stories. Who knows, you may end up at
a genuine kitchen party, learning how to step dance. For the sportsmen, our sometimes comical and entertaining fishing
guides are always knowledgeable. They will take you to the best fishing holes where you'll be sure to hear a story or two
about "the one that got away". Outfitters offer day-trips or overnight packages for fishing, canoeing, tubing, kayaking
and touring around the river. Bring the whole family and enrol the kids in a day camp to learn water safety or how to tie
         flies for fishing.

adventure and sightseeing. A popular attraction is the
