Writers of 22 Minutes Comedy Tour at Vogue Tomorrow Night

22mintourThe writers from This Hour Has 22 Minutes – Heidi Brander, Bob Kerr, Matt Wright and Adam Christie – fly in from Los Angeles, Toronto and Newfoundland to tour New Brunswick with shows beginning this evening August 31st in Moncton and continuing tomorrow night, September 1st, at The Vogue Theatre in Miramichi. Tickets are only $22 plus applicable fees and are available locally at Mill Cove Coffee in Newcastle and the Petro Can in Chatham as well as on the Comedy with Balls website.

Matt Wright joined the 22 Minutes writers room in 2016. He has appeared on CBC’s “The Debaters”, The Halifax Comedy Festival, and at the Just For Laughs Festival. Matt was a national semi-finalist in the SiriusXM “Canada’s Next Top Comic” Competition and “The Overcast” named Matt “Best St. John’s Comedian” in their “Best Of Local People” issue in 2014 and 2015.

Adam Christie is an actor, writer, and comedian originally from Toronto, Ontario. He has won a Canadian Comedy Award, and has been nominated for a Writers Guild Award, two Canadian Screen Awards, and The Tim Sims Encouragement Fund. He has toured nationally as a headliner with Yuk Yuk’s comedy clubs, has performed at JFL 42, Halifax Pop Explosion, NXNE, and The Hubcap Comedy Festival. Adam has been seen on CBC, MuchMusic, MTV, The Comedy Network, CMT, and was a performer/producer on the critically acclaimed weekly comedy show Laugh Sabbath in Toronto. Along with stand-up and writing, Adam is known by thousands of kids across Canada as the former host of The Zone Weekend, as well as Zoink’d on YTV.

Adam is about to start his fourth season writing on This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and is currently living in Los Angeles.

Heidi Brander is a stand-up comedian and PEI’s second-most beloved female writer. In addition to writing for 22 Minutes she has written for CTV’s “Spun Out” and “MTV Live.” She has appeared on Video on Trial, Entertainment Tonight Canada and MTV Live, and has performed at the Halifax Pop Explosion, the Hubcap Comedy Festival, and Boston’s Women in Comedy Festival. She won a 2015 Canadian Comedy Award as part of the 22 Minutes team, and has been nominated for two Writers Guild Awards and a Canadian Screen Award. Her other accolades include a 2012 Canadian Comedy Award nomination for Best Stand-Up Newcomer, and a 1994 win over Ryan Gosling in an elementary school lip-sync competition.

Bob Kerr has written and performed for hit television comedy shows such as This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Comedy Inc., The Nikki Payne Funtime Show, Hotbox, and Satisfaction to name a few. Recently, he co-created a web series entitled “But I’m Chris Jericho”, of which he won a Canadian Comedy Award for Best Writing In A Web Series for his script, “Acting Class.” Currently, Bob will be beginning his seventh year writing on This Hour Has 22 Minutes and has recently won a Canadian Screen Award for Best Writing in a Variety or Sketch Comedy Program or Series.
