Dragon Boat practice in Miramichi
The 1st Annual Dragon Boat Festival in Miramichi begins Saturday morning (Aug.20) with a sunrise ceremony at 5:30am. If you plan to attend be sure to take pictures for those of us who are sleepy heads!

At 9am the dragon boat races begin! The race is a 500m course that lasts about two minutes. Teams will start at the Rodd Miramichi River Hotel and end at Waterford Green.
Various events will be held all day long including a Fly By by Forest Protection Limited, on-site vendors and buskers. Bring your lawnchair and spend the day in Historic Waterstreet Business District with a view of the beautiful Miramichi River. Take a stroll to visit the shops & restaurants nearby.
