Community Volunteer Income Tax Clinics

income-tax-form-canadaThere are four confirmed income tax clinics in our region. Volunteers are set up to help low income folks with simple tax situations to fill out their declarations. Every year thousands and thousands of dollars are lost in the form of benefits by people that can’t or don’t file their tax returns.

People can drop off their information at the Multicultural Association in Chatham at 1808 Water Street. This is a confidential service and the forms will be filed by NBCC students.  For information telephone 506-773-5272.

In Newcastle a clinic will be help on Tuesdays at the Salvation Army from 9 am to 2 pm and on Wednesday from 12 noon to 3 pm at the Public Library. You can reach the Salvation Army at 506-622 7826 and the Newcastle Library at 506-623 2450.

In Blackville the clinic is at the village office from 10 am until 3 pm every day. Contact Mary McCormack.

Residents of Esgenoopetitj First Nation can contact Barb Paul at 506-776-1234 for information on a tax clinic out of the band hall.
