Demanding Choice in Canada’s Cell Phone Market

“We absolutely could do it for less – we choose not to.” That’s what Wade Oosterman, president of Bell Mobility, told regulators in The Province on February 15, 2013.

Canadians pay some of the highest prices for some of the worst cell phone service in the industrialized world. Our cell phone market is dysfunctional and in desperate need of an overhaul. The Time for an Upgrade study examines Canadians’ lived experiences with excessively high telecom costs, restrictive contracts, and disrespectful customer service. The study also provides a citizen-backed roadmap to fix our broken cell phone market.
