Remembrance Day Ceremony 2020 Update from Royal Canadian Legion Branch #10

The Remembrance Day Ceremony will be different this year due to the pandemic. The Executive and Poppy Committees have met and are planning a virtual service on November 11th with minimal invited guests only in attendance. Details on the virtual service will be made public by the first of November. At this time, due to Department of Health restrictions on gatherings there will not be any family memorials laid during the service.

Since many families purchase a wreath or cross to be laid on the veteran’s grave, we are taking orders for them now. The deadline for orders is September 2nd, 4pm. If you would like to order a wreath or cross please notify our office by this date.

The list of memorials will be read during the virtual service. If you decide not to order a memorial, please consider making a donation to the Poppy Fund in memory of your loved one. The list of donations will also be read during the service.

Please note: We will not be ordering extra wreaths and crosses; therefore, it is important to place your order by September 2nd. You will be notified when the order has arrived and given a day/time to pick it up.

We thank you for your continued support of our Poppy Fund and would like to remind you that all funds are deposited into a trust account. The Poppy Fund is used to support veterans, their dependants and other approved expenditures. The funds are not used for legion branch operations.

Stay safe, stay healthy, Lest We Forget.
