Youth Exchange Students Attend Rotary Meeting

The Rotary Club of Newcastle hosted three Short Term Youth Exchange students at a recent meeting. Local students Emma Boulay and Julianna Hache travelled to France and Belgium respectively for five weeks to live with their host families.

Their exchange partners came to Miramichi for a visit as well. All three young ladies agreed it was a wonderful experience to visit another country and learn about different cultures.

Rotary Clubs all over the world take part in this annual program. Short term exchanges take place over the summer months and students ages 15 – 19 are eligible to apply through their local Rotary Club.

Long term exchanges are for one year and the student lives with host families and attends a local school.
