Get Active This Winter in Blackville

Mango Low Impact Exercise Classes

The New Year is all about new beginnings and a fresh start to get healthy and fit. With Blackville Mango, it’s never been easier or more fun to get active.

The Blackville Walking Group welcomes you to meet each night Monday to Friday, any time between 6pm to 8:30pm, at Blackville School for FREE indoor walking (at your own pace and convenience). For more information contact Lois Grady at 843-2236.

On Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7:00pm, aerobic classes are held at the United Church Center at 143 Main Street. Cost is $2 per night for adults, $1 per night for students, middle school aged and older. For more information, contact Jean at 843-2871 or Bev at 843-2854.

These activities are made possible with the support of the Active Community Grants Program from the Department of Culture, Tourism and Healthy Living of the Province of New Brunswick. Mango is a Horizon Health Network – Miramichi community program focused on increasing healthy eating and physical activity in our region.

If you prefer outdoor activities, bring your snowshoes to Blackville Park and walk the trails, or go for a skate at the outdoor rink (open seven days a week). Visit www.villageofblackville.com for full ice schedule.

For anyone looking to lose some weight or maintain their current weight, Weight Watchers is held every Monday night at the Blackville Community Centre. Weigh-in is between 4:30pm and 6:00pm, with a meeting from 6:00pm to 6:30pm. New members are welcome to attend.
