Amy Vickers Fundraising Efforts

Amy Vickers has suffered from cystic fibrosis since birth and has undergone two lung transplants. The Barnettville woman is currently waiting for a call to go back to Toronto for more testing to see if she is healthy enough for another.

If doctors deem her healthy enough for another transplant, she will move to Toronto and wait to receive a lung donor. She and her husband Kendell previously spent three years living in Toronto last time.

Currently, Amy is in the hospital four days a week and the rest of the time is spent at home with her husband.

Friends and family have created several fundraising campaigns to help the couple with costs related to her medical condition, including travel, rent, food and medication. A Go Fund Me page has been set up at www.gofundme.com/oshgf0 where people can donate online.

On Saturday, April 11, there will be a benefit dance and auction at The Tipsy Canoe in Boiestown from 9:00pm to 1:00am.

Tickets are also being sold on a fishing trip at Rocky Brook Lakes for two people, a gourmet meal for four people at the Ledges Inn in Doaktown, and a CAA membership for one year. Call Douglas Lyons at 365-0284 for more information.
