It was a full house at the latest show at the Miramichi Folklore Park in Renous on Sunday, April 19th. The “Music Heroes – Come Meet The Stars” event had good food, good music, and everyone had a good time! Shown in the photo to the right are Junior Hubbard, Amy and Helen Jardine, Allan Washburn, Linda MacQueen, Wil Dedam, Percy Murdock, Dan MacVicar, Amber Walls, Johnny Manderville, Emily McEvoy, Steve Nicholson, Annie Hallihan, Ryan Donovan, Austin Sullivan, Debbie Muck and Eric Hendriks.

Coming up on Wednesday, April 29th, the Miramichi Folklore Park is very pleased to announce that Cape Breton blues-rocker Dan Doiron will be coming to play for one night only starting at 8 pm. Dan is an amazing singer-songwriter-guitarist who was featured at Terry Whalen’s Barn in the City of Miramichi last summer. In October 2013 the Dan Doiron band won the East Coast Music Association’s “Maritimes to Memphis Blues Challenge”. As a result they represented Atlantic Canada at the 2014 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, known as the premiere Blues event in the world! Admission to this special event at the Folklore Park is just $8. For more information about this tremendous artist like his Facebook Page and check out Dan Doiron’s website.

The next event at the Park will be “Whippersnappers – Young Miramichi Talent” featuring some of the best young singers and musicians the river has to offer. This will take place on Saturday, May 9th, from 8 to 11 pm. Refreshments will be available. Admission is $6.

There are still a few tickets left for the Heritage Players 17th production of The Legend Of The Dungarvon Whooper to be held on Tuesday, May 26th, at 12 noon at the United Church Hall in Blackville. This will be a Dinner Theatre and the tickets are $25. These are available by calling Bernie at (506)625-3544.
