Around the River this Weekend August 13th – 16th
We have an absolutely gorgeous weekend coming up filled with warm temperatures and lots of sunshine! It’s going to be a great weekend to check out some Yard Sales and there are quite a few happening in the region. Click here to plan your Yard Sale route! A lot of people seem to feel like summer is winding down but there’s still a whole lot happening around the river so get out and enjoy yourself! Maybe head upriver to Upper Miramichi for the annual Pro Lumberjack competition at the Woodmen’s Museum in Boiestown, tee off at the Jake Stewart Classic Golf Tournament in Doaktown, or spend the weekend with motorcycle enthusiasts at the Power Track Biker Rally in Blackville.
If you’re looking to take a road trip, you might want to head north to the coast at Petit-Rocher and support the Miramichi Art Core as they participate in a Plein Air Art Festival.
A bit closer to home within the City limits the Napan Fair starts today! The folks at Discover Miramichi have put together a fantastic list of things to do all summer long and upcoming events such as this weekend’s Acadian Day celebrations at Queen Elizabeth Park and next weekend’s Scottish Festival. Before the Scottish Festival begins, Historic Beaverbrook House welcomes the Fochabers Fiddlers from Scotland to the Miramichi this coming Wednesday. Keep your eye on Giv’er Miramichi this week for lots of Scottish Festival news! And let’s not forget there are always free concerts at Ritchie’s Wharf in Newcastle. As an extra special treat, the Water Walkerz are at Ritchie Wharf Park from now through next weekend, August 23rd.
