Student Financial Assistance Applications Available
Students interested in the Free Tuition Program can now apply for student financial assistance for the 2017-18 academic year.
The applications are for New Brunswick residents who will be attending a post-secondary educational institution full-time in programs that start on or after Aug. 1.
The information guide, along with the online application and other forms, are available on the Student Financial Services website.
This year, applicants will be automatically assessed for Free Tuition Program and Tuition Relief for the Middle Class eligibility. These programs make post-secondary education more accessible by providing more upfront financial assistance to New Brunswick students attending a publicly funded university or college.
“Your government knows how important creating jobs, growing the economy and securing health care and education are to New Brunswickers and their families,” said Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Donald Arseneault. “Last year we launched the Free Tuition Program, and, this year, Tuition Relief for the Middle Class. These programs will increase access and affordability of acquiring a post-secondary education, retain more youth in New Brunswick, address declining enrolment and make New Brunswick an even more enticing place to live, study and work.”
Students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, even if they have not been officially accepted into a program of study. Applications must be received at least eight weeks before the start date of a program in order for students to receive funding by the time classes begin.
More information on programs and services to help people achieve higher education goals is available from the Student Financial Services office.
