Vote Renous NB for Kraft Hockeyville

The campaign to win this year’s Kraft Hockeyville is in full swing! The Tom Donovan Arena in Renous, NB has made it to the Top 4 and is the only East Coast location in the running. The Grand Prize winning community will win $250,000 in arena upgrades and the opportunity to host an NHL® Pre-Season hockey game.

Thomas Dunn

The bid for Kraft Hockeyville was submitted in memorial of Thomas Dunn, a 14 year old boy and young hockey player whose life was taken in an accident this past year. The improvements to the arena will be made in his honour.

The outpouring of community spirit and support that has resulted, is both overwhelming and inspiring. Messages, photos, and videos of support from schools, hockey teams, businesses and individuals have been pouring in from all across Canada and the US.

I am 84 years old living in Victoria, BC
Spent a very large part of my boyhood from 1946 to 1961 in Renous, played a lot of hockey in the old outdoor rink
At the old navy ammunition depot where my father was the Fire Chief.
Knew Tom Donovan well and my wife is also a Miramichi girl.
We are proud of you Renous, well done and hope we win the whole enchilada .

What a great tribute to the Tom Donovan Arena. We are not from New Brunswick but moved to Retirement Miramichi 10 years ago and having played hockey myself as a goalie and also having coached for over 30 years both here and in Quebec and Ontario I have followed Jake Allens career plus some of the other players from the Maritimes and who could forget the Malone family, all great hockey players in their own right so we will be voting for Renous for sure!
